This is a reprint of the sixth edtion of A Confession of Faith adopted by the Philadelphia Baptist Association in 1742 and printed by Benjamin Franklin in 1743. It is not the oldest doctrinal statement set forth by the Regular Baptists in America, but it was the first to be printed for general distribution. Reprinted as a Project for the Tri-Centennial Celebration of the Founding of the First Baptist Association in America in 1707, the Philadelphia Baptist Association. A Baptist History Classic Reprint.
